Council Raises Over $5,400 for New Ultrasound Machine

Knights of Columbus Council 17028 has raised over $5,400 to support the purchase of a new ultrasound machine for A Woman’s Concern, a prof-life pregnancy and parenting recourse center in Lancaster, PA. AWC was the first organization to receive an ultrasound machine 25 years ago as part of this program, and have now received the 99th. The contribution comes from $1,000 donated by Council 17028 and the remaining $4,400 raised at a successful spaghetti dinner and trivia fundraiser and very generous donations from St. Philip’s parishioners. Council members and their families worked very hard to make this an enjoyable night for all, and the St. Philip’s Women’s Auxiliary provided desserts and the Youth Group assisted at the event in a big way. This was part of a larger initiative, where the Knights of Lancaster County were tasked with raising $17,500 for a new machine and the Supreme Council for contributing the remaining $17,500. Together, the Knights were able to raise over $25,000 for AWC, allowing them to purchase additional years of maintenance for their new machine. The machine was blessed by The Reverend Father Lawrence Sherdel at a special event on September 29th.
