Brother Knights,
In September, the Catholic Church celebrates the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
on September 8 and the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows on September 15, while the
entire month is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. September also features several
important feast days for saints, including St. Gregory the Great, (Sept. 3), St. Mother
Teresa (Sept. 5), St. Peter Claver (Sept. 9), and the feast of the Archangels St. Michael,
Raphael, and Gabriel (Sept. 29).
I want to thank all those who had helped make the Spaghetti Dinner/Trivia Fundraiser
to help A Woman’s Concern to purchase their new ultrasound machine a rousing
success. We have just had another substantial donation toward the fundraiser and as
soon as we have the final result, we will share that with all of you. We will also report
on it at the Sept 18th Council Meeting.
The Women’s Auxiliary have invited Council Members wives to an Ice Cream
Social on Sunday Sept 14th at 1 PM in the PAC. It is their annual Baby
Shower to benefit A Woman’s Concern and would like our wives to “see them in
action” They can call Fay Shultz 717-808-2989 or Maureen Ehret 717-464-0973 by
Sept 11th.
COUNCIL BUDGET FOR F.Y. 24 25
This month we also have the Food Drive-9/13, Wreaths Across America begins 9/20 &
9/21, Community Meal – 9/19, Membership Drive – also on 9/20 & 9/21 and a Movie
Night in the gym on Sunday 9/28 at 4PM. Please help out where you can.
This month’s Council meeting is Thursday, September 18th at 7pm with Rosary at
6:40pm. I hope to see you there.
