Brother Knights,
Since All Saints Day falls on a Saturday this year, The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops does not consider the day a holy day of obligation. That being said, the only Mass offered at St Philip’s this year will be at 9:00 am on Saturday. There will be no other Masses for All Saints Day. Sunday Mass schedule will be normal Nov 2 (All Souls Day). That being said, anytime we can celebrate the Eucharist is where heaven meets earth. Just because we are not obligated to go to Mass for All Saints Day this year doesn’t mean we should not. Look at it as a holy day of opportunity. I strongly encourage all brothers to attend Mass weather at St. Philips or elsewhere for All Saints Day. This is a chance for us to celebrate those who have gone before us in faith in our experiencing the Beatific Vision. Let us attend Mass this day to celebrate the Communion of Saints and those Saints, who are both known and unknown to us.
Vivat Jesus,
Doug Kyle Faith Director
