Message from the St Philip’s office regarding Severe Weather

Brothers,

The office sent me this email regarding the impending storm on Sunday:

*All are encouraged to attend Holy Mass on Saturday Evening, so long as it is safe to travel, making the needed adjustments to prioritize Mass.

*There is no obligation to attend Mass if weather and/or road conditions are unsafe or make travel dangerous or difficult, or, if one is unable to get out of their driveway or parked space.

*Those persons who are unable to attend Mass this weekend may view the celebration of Mass on television or via live-streaming. We will be live-streaming Saturday night’s Mass, and that can be viewed on Sunday morning.

*Prayer should have a central place in order to sanctify the Lord’s Day. If watching Holy Mass on television or live-streaming, it is recommend to take time to pray prior to the Mass and remove any distractions (praying with the Scriptures of the Day, reciting the Holy Rosary and focusing on the Holy Mass by turning off notifications and abstaining from food or drink while viewing the Mass).

*Masses will be offered at St. Philip’s on Sunday, according to the typical schedule, however due to the forecasted timing of this severe storm, our parking lots and sidewalks will likely not be cleared in time for the Sunday Morning Masses. For this reason, all are encouraged to attend Holy Mass on Saturday Evening or view Holy Mass on television and/or live-stream on Sunday Morning.

*Liturgical Ministers should not put themselves or others in a dangerous situation by attending Holy Mass, please follow these guidelines and be safe.

*All other scheduled activities at St. Philip’s on Sunday are cancelled. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for other closures during the week.

Stay safe and I hope to see you at the Saturday 5pm Mass.
