Brothers, this came to me in an email from Deacon Fran. This email went out to ALL the ministry groups within the parish, including ours
To All
In reviewing our monthly supplier statements I have become aware that someone recently used the parish tax exemption number for purchase of items for their personal use.
Please be advised this is totally against diocese and parish regulations. Utilizing a non corporate sales tax number by an individual violates the State of Pennsylvania Sales Tax law and could jeopardize our Sales tax exemption status as well as the company where the purchase was made.
I respectively request the individual responsible for this transaction return the material purchased for a full refund. This will at least correct the parish records with the vendor.
Of course the individual could repurchase the items and pay the appropriate sales tax.
Please share this with your groups. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me.
