Brothers,
We don’t do the work we do for our Council for recognition or praise. Ultimately, we do it for the Lord and in service to our parish, our Brother Knights, and our community.
That said, I do want to take a moment to recognize and thank our Financial Secretary, Andy DiPace, for the outstanding job he continues to do for our Council.
Andy has served as our Financial Secretary since our Council’s inception in 2018. Much of what he does takes place behind the scenes and may not always be seen or appreciated by the rest of the Council.
Today, I received an email from Jim Nardone, who oversees Star Tracker, Awards, and Information Systems for the state. He noted that there are many councils across Pennsylvania that are not currently in compliance with submitting required reports. Among the reports mentioned were the Report of Officers, Service Personnel Report, and Annual Audit. In fact, there are as many as 400 councils that still need to submit one or more of these reports. These submissions are important for A) Communications, B) Safe Environment Compliance, C) IRS/Reporting status with the audit, D) a requirement for any awards.
I’m proud to say that our Council was not on any of those lists.
That doesn’t happen by accident. It is the result of people like Andy faithfully taking care of the responsibilities entrusted to him and making sure that our Council remains in good standing.
Andy, thank you for your many years of dedicated service, your attention to detail, and for all the work you do behind the scenes to keep our Council running properly. It is very much appreciated.
